We were moving to the valley from out of town. We had a few months to look at homes so we planned to come to Arizona for a couple of days, see as many properties as possible understanding that it could take us a few trips to get exactly what we wanted. We would tell William when we were planning to be in town and what days and times we would like to look at houses. We then agreed on a time to meet. William always accommodated us, no matter when we asked him to be available. Working with William May was enjoyable and very rewarding. We knew we wanted to focus our attention to bank owned real estate, short sale opportunities or foreclosure properties looking for the right "Deal". Our narrowed approach was driven to make-a-play on a value added property which was impacted by the local economy within the north Scottsdale geographic area. Our choice in selecting William as our agent could not have been more rewarding. Bill spent the time to do the research ultimately presenting many options that fit our selection criteria for us to narrow. After several tours we decided to focus our attention to a bank owned property and we made an offer. Our approach was to use local comparison sale data to negotiate the price lower than what we believed the true value to be. I was referred to Bill May by my mortgage broker/brother, Jay Erickson. At the time, my fiance and I were ready to buy our first home and were very interested in doing so before the end of the year in order to receive the first-time home buyer tax credit. Bill helped us look at houses for a couple of months until we finally found "the one."
During our search we kept hearing "how great the market is" from friends and family, however it had really started picking up and we probably put offers on six or seven houses.
